Two digital book covers: "Night Lore" with a raven on a purple background, and "The Stars of Ember" featuring a celestial design on blue.

One night, as I was wrapped in the familiar comfort of my bed, I found myself aimlessly scrolling through TikTok, a habit that has become almost second nature in our digital age. The soft glow of my phone illuminated the room as I swiped through an endless stream of videos, each one vying for my attention with its catchy sounds and captivating visuals. Just as I was about to put my phone down and surrender to sleep, I stumbled upon a video featuring an author discussing her upcoming book release. If I recall correctly, she mentioned that she was actively seeking ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) readers to provide feedback before the official launch of her book. The author’s previous works sounded incredibly intriguing, filled with rich characters and an immersive plot that promised to transport readers to a different realm.

Motivated by my curiosity and the desire to support a new author, I made the decision to dive into her literary world. I didn’t want to start with the second book in the series, as I believed it was essential to experience the narrative from the beginning to fully appreciate the character development and story arcs. So, I hopped online and quickly purchased the first book in the series, titled Night Lore. I dove into the pages headfirst, eager to discover what awaited me within the story. From the very first chapter, I was immediately impressed by the author's captivating writing style, which seamlessly wove together vivid descriptions and compelling dialogue. The world she created was rich and engaging, drawing me in with its intricate details and well-developed characters. As I turned each page, I found myself becoming more and more invested in the plot, eager to uncover the secrets and twists that lay ahead. The author’s ability to evoke emotions and create tension was remarkable, and I knew I had stumbled upon something special. The Reviews

“Night Lore” was an explosive high fantasy story beginning with the end of the deadly War of Fallen Skies. The story then weaves between narratives of Eldra Solaris, king of New Solara and Atreya Ward Blackwater, wife of opposition leader King Ramses Blackwater of Ember. The story extends over many years occasionally detouring to the past to drop morsels of information for the reader to collect and piece together. Author, Genesis Batista paints vivid imagery giving you the feeling of being there in the story right next to its characters. The writing was beautiful as well as intriguing and everything is not as it seems. My mind was blown over and over and I can’t wait for more!

In “The Stars of Ember” we continue where the last book “Night Lore” left off. The journey then continues following Atreya but now also Ronan, a vampire who was visiting Ember. The narrative switches back and forth between these characters revealing inner thoughts, emotions, and so much more. This series is packed with drama, action, fantasy, and romance and I am obsessed. The plot of the book is EVERYTHING and the characters just add to the greatness. As a bonus, we see many recognizable characters from the first book carry over into this book which really kept the flow of the story on point. I really was worried when diving into the second book because I found the first book to be so good but “The Stars of Ember” did not disappoint and I will eagerly be awaiting for the next book. This story is **muah** chef’s kiss and I highly recommend!
